The finding: Mitch Beck submitted a form on winningbydesign.com at 8:51am PDT this morning and wrote, verbatim:
I want to look at pricing for putting my entire sales team through SPICED training.
Asked how he heard about us, he wrote: "taken revenue architecture." He booked your calendar in the same session. This is a stated buying intent with the product and the scope already named by the buyer.

Net it down: He took our material himself three times, pointed his organization at it for four weeks, then asked us to price it for everyone who reports to him. The evaluation already happened without us in the room.
| Element | Where it stands | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Situation | Founded 2001, 33,000 customers, 40% international. Backed by TA Associates since 2021 and Berkshire Partners since 2023, both still in. Four acquisitions absorbed: SimpleMDM, SmartDeploy, CODA, ISL Online. Migrating from on-prem perpetual to PDQ Connect subscription while moving from product-led SMB into mid-market, per their own VP Marketing job description. | High |
| Pain | PDQ raised Deploy and Inventory list from $1,650 to $1,950 between 14 May and 24 June. Connect costs a 500-device customer $6,000 to $14,000 against that $1,950. His reps are asking 33,000 installed-base accounts for 3x to 7x more money, for a product rated 4.6 on G2 against the 4.8 of the one they are leaving. No PDQ job description in the company names any sales methodology, and there is no enablement owner. | Strong inference |
| Impact | Not quantified. Nothing on ramp, win rate, migration conversion, or churn. This is the only real hole in the deal. | Missing |
| Critical Event | 1 August. Microsoft completes folding Enterprise Application Management into M365 E3 and E5. That is third-party app patching, which is what PDQ sells, and it becomes free. Rollout began 1 July. | High |
| Decision | Mitch sits on the executive leadership team per the March 2026 req he filled. No CRO in seat. CEO Dan Cook was CRO at Lucid Software through $100M, so he is already fluent in this argument. Unknown whether a spend this size needs Cook, the CFO, or the sponsors. | Medium |
They cannot beat free on price, cannot outspend NinjaOne at a $12.3B valuation, and cannot undercut a self-funded Action1 that already outranks them on G2. The only defensible ground left is articulating customer-specific impact.
That is the capability their own job descriptions show they do not have, and it is the capability SPICED installs. The compelling event is theirs and it is dated. We do not have to manufacture urgency.
The finding: PDQ has fourteen open roles and exactly one is in sales, Head of Channel. Zero open AE, SDR, SE, sales manager or enablement requisitions.
Net it down: They are not hiring their way out of this. They need productivity from headcount they already own, which is the shape of a full-team enablement purchase rather than an onboarding program. It also means the seat count is fixed and knowable today.
PDQ is running installed-base migration, mid-market new-logo, and a channel program being built from zero, simultaneously. Their Head of Channel Sales role promises to equip "reseller AEs, SEs, and marketing teams with the messaging, tools, and confidence to position and sell." They have to teach partners a method they do not yet have. When Mitch says "entire sales team," it is worth establishing whether that includes the sales engineers, strategic account managers and partner managers who have also been on our site.
4.1 Impact. If the whole team ran this well six months from now, what number moves, and by how much? Without a figure we are quoting a training cost. With one we are quoting a return, and the return is measured against an installed base of 33,000 accounts being repriced.
4.2 Scope. When you say your entire sales team, who is in that? AEs only, or the SEs, strategic account managers and channel people too? This sizes the number before we quote it.
Recommended close: book a working session. Fifteen minutes is enough to confirm scope and impact, not to price.
DS: Mitch's exact start date at PDQ is unverified. Every signal says he is new in the seat, but no source confirms it. Worth asking rather than assuming.
DS: Scott Crandall appears in aggregators as a prior PDQ VP Sales and is probably who Mitch replaced. Jaren Nichols shows as President and COO but his LinkedIn now surfaces another company. Neither is verified. I would not name either on the call.
DS: No reliable PDQ revenue figure exists publicly. Aggregator estimates range from $6M to $20M and contradict each other. The 381 headcount is soft enrichment data. I would not quote a number.
DS: Serene Papenfuss, Senior Director of Operations and Strategy, has been in our CRM since February 2025 as an offline contact with zero engagement. Unknown what that original conversation was. Possible second thread into the account.
